Anxiety
Anxiety affects more than one out of five individuals. Symptoms can range from a mild underlying nervousness to full-fledged panic attacks. The worst part is that the individual has no perception of why they are anxious.
Hypnosis works to find the cause of the anxiety, usually stemming from a single event as a child. Once the initial cause is found, your hypnotist will lead you through techniques to uncover the faulty belief system that is in place, and work with you to rebuild your inner belief system. Most anxiety clients begin to experience relief after just one session, and are completely free of unreasonable anxiety in only 3-5 sessions.
Dave's Story
Dave was a victim of panic attacks. At first, he would only feel them when he drove over a bridge, sometimes even having to pull over to the side. As time went on, the panic attacks increased in frequency and intensity. By the time he came to see me, he was afraid that he was going to have a heart attack. Anyone who is familiar with these knows how debilitating they can be, affecting every area of one's life. Dave was living in fear of fear itself.
At first, Dave was uncertain about the hypnotic process. He was afraid
that if he allowed himself to relax, he would experience that panic.
Once he understood more about hypnosis, that it is a natural state of
awareness that he passes through on a daily basis, and that allowing
himself to relax his body and mind, slipping into a state of greater
awareness actually gave him more control, he was able to follow the
hypnotic process with no reservations.
Using specific uncovering techniques, we found that this panic was
related to a time in Dave's childhood when he was walking home from
school. He had to walk over a bridge every day on the way to and from
school. One day as he was walking home, two bigger boys came up behind
him on their bikes. He could hear them riding up behind him. One boy
pulled in front of him, and one blocked him from behind, and they began
to taunt him, saying that they were going to throw him over the bridge.
As the boys got closer and closer to Dave, his adrenaline kicked in,
and he began kicking and punching the older boys. He broke away and
ran home as fast as he could, his heart beating in his chest the whole
time. Dave was never bothered by the boys again, and never told anyone
about the incident, but from that time on, was leery whenever he crossed
the bridge. His subconscious mind formed an anchor at that time, so
that anytime Dave was threatened, even if it was just perceived in his
mind, he would react in a similar manner. As his life progressed, the
reaction got worse and worse. He was on medication as a result, and
that helped most of the time.
After reframing the event, and releasing the emotions that had been stored in his mind and body, Dave was amazed that the panic was gone. You see, most people who have panic attacks have an low-intensity underlying panic that is always there. He felt peaceful and calm for the first time he could remember. He was amazed that in just a few hours, we could completely resolve something that had touched his life in so many areas.
